Show Summary: This week we talk to the lunatic farmer himself, Joel Salatin! (Please excuse the bad audio from the landline; we did our best to clean it up.) Joel explains his unique and groundbreaking style of farming as well as his cultural philosophy. Joel Salatin brings a unique and wide-ranging perspective to the food/farm discussion. Joel, while in love with the land, he is suspicious of government, especially as an entrepreneur. Joel, however, is distrustful of anything that diminishes the commons; his perspective brings depth and breadth from the farm and to the dinner table. This is a show everybody will love!
About The Guest: Joel Salatin, calls himself a Christian libertarian environmentalist capitalist lunatic farmer. Others who like him call him the most famous farmer in the world, the high priest of the pasture, and the most eclectic thinker from Virginia since Thomas Jefferson. Those who don’t like him call him a bio-terrorist, Typhoid Mary, charlatan, and starvation advocate.
With a room full of debate trophies from high school and college days, 12 published books, and a thriving multi-generational family farm, he draws on a lifetime of food, farming, and fantasy to entertain and inspire audiences around the world. He’s as comfortable moving cows in a pasture as addressing CEOs in a Wall Street business conference.
About the Co-Host: Tiffany Diaz De Leon is a 10 year Libertarian National Party member and the current Vice Chair of The Libertarian Party of Washington. She is also the Co-founder of her successful County Libertarian Party. Tiffany is the lover and activist of all things regarding freedom and liberty. When Tiffany is not working or with family, she enjoys speaking engagements, media, candidate support, graphic design, and marketing.
